Application Steps

1 Read Guidance Document Download and review the Sustainable CAP Guidance Document from yukon.ca. It contains the complete eligible activities list, additional criteria, and the evaluation matrix. Reading it before contacting the Agriculture Branch significantly improves application quality.
2 Contact Agriculture Branch Call 867-667-5838 or email [email protected] before submitting. Staff will confirm eligibility, advise on the applicant category, and flag any issues. Office: Room 320, Elijah Smith Building, 300 Main Street, Whitehorse. Hours: Mon–Fri 8:30 AM–4:30 PM.
3 Complete Application Form Download the application form from yukon.ca. Complete all sections: project description, budget breakdown (eligible vs. total costs), timeline, and outcome measures.
4 Gather Supporting Documents Collect: farm business plan or project proposal, financial statements or prior-year CRA revenue documentation, competitive quotes for equipment or construction, matching funds confirmation, and any YESAB approvals if applicable.
5 Submit by Monthly Deadline Submit to the Agriculture Branch by 4:30 PM on the first Friday of the month (or next business day if a statutory holiday). Late submissions are held for the following month.
6 Evaluation and Decision Agriculture Branch and Project Evaluation Committee review against the assessment matrix. Decision communicated within 4–6 weeks of the intake deadline.
7 Sign Transfer Payment Agreement Approved applicants sign the agreement specifying funding amount, project deliverables, reporting schedule, and payment terms.
8 Implement and Claim Execute the project. Submit progress reports and financial claims per the agreement schedule. Submit final report and reconciled invoices upon completion.
