Program Description

Supports Saskatchewan-based game developers and studios creating original commercial digital games, including mobile/tablet apps, console/PC games, AR/VR experiences, and educational gamified tools. Provides up to $50,000 per year and $100,000 lifetime, covering 50% of project costs across Pre-Production and Production streams.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Saskatchewan-based developers and studios (permanent establishment in Saskatchewan required)
  • Individual applicants must have filed an income tax return respecting income earned in Saskatchewan in the year preceding the year of application
  • Corporate applicants must be incorporated or continued under an Act, or registered under an Act to carry on business in Saskatchewan; have a permanent establishment in Saskatchewan; have the majority of their outstanding voting shares owned by Saskatchewan residents; and have filed an income tax return respecting income earned in Saskatchewan for the preceding taxation year
  • An annual Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency is required to confirm taxation in the Province of Saskatchewan
  • Applicant must be in good standing with Creative Saskatchewan in all respects
  • Applicants may not apply on behalf of a political organization or party, a religious organization, an organization that discriminates on the basis of culture, gender, sexual orientation, race, language, ethnic origin, economic status, religion, political or other conscientiously held beliefs, or an organization advocating for political or religious beliefs
  • Must be developing original digital games or gamified e-learning properties intended for commercial sale
  • Eligible project types: mobile/tablet apps, console/PC games, AR/VR experiences, educational gamified tools with game mechanics
  • Commission projects are ineligible (new restriction for 2026)
  • Projects also receiving SK Arts or SaskCulture funding are ineligible
  • Ineligible expenses must not exceed 50% of total project budget
  • Pre-Production stream: prototypes, demos, MVPs, vertical slices, pre-production documents, pitch/marketing materials
  • Production stream: complete, market-ready games available for commercial purchase
