Program Description
Québec northern initiatives fund supporting projects that foster community development, territory enhancement, and applied research in northern Québec.
Eligibility Requirements
- Non-profits, incorporated organizations, cooperatives, mutuals, Indigenous band councils/communities, northern village corporations/villages, Inuit landholding corporations, municipalities/MRCs/municipal bodies, regional administrations, or educational institutions for research projects only
- Businesses legally constituted in Québec or Canada are eligible only for social-infrastructure projects
- Private and cooperative social-infrastructure projects must provide proximity services and meet essential community or employee needs
- Project carried out on northern Québec territory or benefiting communities/businesses located there
- Minimum 10% applicant/community contribution to eligible costs
- Cumulative public aid capped at 50% for private projects and 90% for public projects
- Expenses incurred or planned after March 31, 2028 are ineligible
- Application window is August 19 to September 16, 2026
