Manitoba producers with eligible Forage Establishment Insurance can receive a 15% premium discount and follow-on discounts on Basic/Select Hay or Forage Seed Insurance.
Eligibility Requirements
- Manitoba producers with an active MASC AgriInsurance policy that includes Forage Establishment Insurance
- Growing eligible forage crops on designated acres classified as soil types H, I, and J
- Landlords are not eligible
- Organic forage seed is not eligible
- Eligible crops are alfalfa, alfalfa seed, birdsfoot trefoil, clover, sainfoin, tall fescue seed, pedigreed timothy seed, and perennial grasses excluding perennial ryegrass
- The soil-type designation is made by MASC, not self-declared by the producer
- Coverage must be applied for by March 31 and the seeded acres reported on the Seeded Acreage Report by June 30
