Program Description
Manitoba producers with eligible Forage Establishment Insurance can receive a 15% premium discount and follow-on discounts on Basic/Select Hay or Forage Seed Insurance.
Eligibility Requirements
- Manitoba producers with an active MASC AgriInsurance policy that includes Forage Establishment Insurance
- Growing eligible forage crops on designated acres classified as soil types H, I, and J
- Landlords are not eligible
- Organic forage seed is not eligible

MASC's own example: an $844.80 premium is reduced by $126.72 to $718.08.

Insider TipThis reduces an insurance premium — it does not pay you money. You must already hold an active MASC AgriInsurance policy that includes Forage Establishment Insurance, and the acres must be MASC-classified soil types H, I or J. Apply for coverage by March 31 and report seeded acres on your Seeded Acreage Report by June 30. Landlords are excluded and organic forage seed does not qualify. Eligible crops: alfalfa, alfalfa seed, birdsfoot trefoil, clover, sainfoin, tall fescue seed, pedigreed timothy seed, and perennial grasses excluding perennial ryegrass. Ducks Unlimited Canada's Marginal Areas and Forage programs are designed to stack with this.
