Program Description

Grant funding for Indigenous and coastal communities to engage with offshore wind energy in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador waters. Round 2 runs on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Indigenous applicants based in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, or other provinces who fish or harvest in the relevant offshore areas
  • Indigenous communities/governments, Tribal Councils, national or regional Indigenous councils, tribal organizations, and Indigenous majority-owned for-profit or not-for-profit organizations
  • Coastal and industry applicants must be legal entities validly incorporated or registered in Canada
  • Eligible entity types include development corporations, research associations, and industry, fishing, marine, or boating associations
  • Up to 40% of Round 2 funding is reserved for Indigenous applicants
  • Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until allocated
