Program Description
Supports early-stage automotive and mobility technology development by providing up to $50,000 per approved project, matched 1:1 by private-sector funds, to incorporated Ontario-based SMEs.
Eligibility Requirements
- Recipient of OCI funds must be an incorporated Ontario-based SME
- Active corporation with a Business Number issued by the Canada Revenue Agency
- Registered operations in Ontario
- Fewer than 500 global full-time employees
- Project must support technology development from conception to prototype (TRL 2 to TRL 4+)
- Project activities carried out in Ontario
- Minimum 1:1 private-sector matching contribution required
- May be an applicant on only one New Venture Creation project at a time
- A researcher at an Ontario post-secondary institution may apply, but the SME must be the fund recipient
