Program Description

Alberta grant for industry organizations, institutions, NPOs, municipalities, schools and provincially licensed meat/dairy facilities to build public trust and resiliency in agriculture.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be an industry organization, post-secondary institution, not-for-profit registered in Alberta, municipality, school authority, provincially licensed meat facility, provincially licensed dairy facility, or other person deemed eligible by the Minister
  • Not-for-profits must have been operating for a minimum of one year and have provincial or federal filings up to date
  • Primary producers and retail/food service businesses are explicitly ineligible
  • Funding is limited and applications are assessed case-by-case

Application Steps

1 Confirm you are an eligible applicant Provincially licensed meat facilities (a licence under the Meat Inspection Act to slaughter animals or process meat in an abattoir, mobile butcher facility or on-farm slaughter operation), provincially licensed dairy facilities (a processor licence under the Dairy Industry Act), industry organizations, post-secondary institutions, Alberta-registered non-profits operating at least one year with filings up to date, municipalities, and school authorities. Farmers, governments, retailers, restaurants and food establishments cannot apply.
