Application Steps

Identify a Delivery Organization Choose from the 11 accredited STIP Delivery Organizations based on your sector: ECO Canada, BioTalent Canada, Mining Industry Human Resources Council (MiHR), Colleges and Institutes Canada, Electricity HR Canada, Clean Foundation, Project Learning Tree Canada, Relay Education, Indigenous Clean Energy, United Nations Association in Canada, or First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Sustainable Development Institute.
Confirm employer eligibility Verify your organization operates in the natural resources sector (energy, forestry, mining, earth sciences, clean technology) and can offer a full-time (30+ hrs/week) position for up to 12 months.
Develop internship and mentorship plan Prepare a job description, mentorship plan, and training outline for the position. The role should provide meaningful green job skills development.

Hire and onboard the intern Once approved, recruit a youth aged 15-30 who meets eligibility criteria. Complete onboarding and begin the internship.
