- Must hire an individual who self-identifies as living with a disability.
- Participant must be a resident of Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador).
- Participant must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Positions are limited and filled on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis.

Who receives the money, the employer or the worker?
The employer. Participants are hired by the employer and paid through the employer's payroll system, and the wage subsidy goes directly to the employer.
Which businesses can use it?
Small and medium businesses in Atlantic Canada that hire an individual who self-identifies as living with a disability. There is no sector restriction; the employers currently listed include an indoor playground, a college, a juice company, an energy efficiency enterprise and a thrift store.
Is there a deadline?
No date is published. There are a limited number of work placements available and they are filled on a first come, first served basis.
Does the participant have to be a Saint Mary's student?
No. The page states the program is for anyone who self-identifies as living with a disability in Atlantic Canada.
Is there a cost to take part?
No. The program is free to join, and in many cases participants are paid to take part in the workshop side of it.
Does the subsidy cover the whole wage?
No. It is a fixed $9 an hour, not a percentage, so the employer funds the remainder of the wage and its own payroll costs.
