Program Description
Project-based grants for Indigenous entrepreneurs and Indigenous-owned businesses in Canada's three territories to establish or grow viable businesses. Delivered through regional Service Delivery Partners (SDPs) including Kakivak Association, däna Näye Ventures, and Métis Dene Development Fund. Covers business planning, marketing, capital access, and commercial ventures. Distinct from IDEANorth (ID 242).
Eligibility Requirements
- Indigenous entrepreneur or Indigenous-owned business (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit)
- Business located in Yukon, NWT, or Nunavut
- Individual entrepreneurs and privately owned businesses apply through their regional Service Delivery Partner (SDP); large economic development corporations and community-owned corporations may apply to CanNor directly
- Yukon: däna Näye Ventures
- NWT: Métis Dene Development Fund
- Nunavut: Qikiqtaaluk region — Kakivak Association; Kivalliq region — Kivalliq Inuit Association; Kitikmeot region — Kitikmeot Community Futures Inc. (CanNor's 2024-25 results also name the Nunavut Community Futures Association as the Kitikmeot delivery partner — confirm the current partner with [email protected].)
