What this program funds and who can apply
Program Description
Innovation PEI covers up to 25% of eligible capital costs, to a maximum of $25,000, for Prince Edward Island businesses that make, process or develop goods or services mainly for export in a strategic sector. Eligible purchases are machinery and equipment, renovations or leasehold improvements tied to starting a new business or expanding an existing one.
Eligibility Requirements
- Business located in, registered to conduct business in, and actively operating in Prince Edward Island
- Must manufacture, process or develop goods or services primarily for export
- Must operate in a strategic sector: bioscience; aerospace and defence; advanced manufacturing and processing; renewable energy and clean technology; information and communications technology; or creative and cultural industries
- First-of-its-kind exportable goods or services in other sectors may be considered
- Not eligible with a defaulted debt on file in the Province's Central Default Registry
- Applicants in default on any reporting, project completion or financial obligation to Innovation PEI are not reviewed until the default is resolved
- Application must be submitted before any financial or legal commitment is made on the project
