What this program funds and who can apply
Program Description
New Brunswick energy-efficiency rebate delivered by NB Power under the SaveEnergyNB banner. Participants get 25% of eligible project costs back on energy-saving equipment replacements including lighting, heating, cooling and ventilation, commercial kitchen equipment and compressors, up to a lifetime cap of $250,000 per project site. Open to businesses on NB Power's Small Industrial or General Service I rate schedule, and to indirect customers in New Brunswick served by Saint John Energy, Edmundston Energy or Perth-Andover Light Commission. Agricultural buildings, places of worship and multi-unit residential buildings of three or more units qualify via the Residential Rate Schedule. Pre-approval is mandatory before any work starts or costs are incurred.
Eligibility Requirements
- Business must be located in New Brunswick
- Business must be classified under NB Power's Small Industrial or General Service I Rate Schedule
- Indirect customers served by Saint John Energy, Edmundston Energy or Perth-Andover Light Commission are eligible if they are in a similar rate schedule or customer class
- Eligible building types include non-profit and for-profit organizations, government-owned buildings (municipal, provincial, federal), institutional buildings, mixed-use buildings, buildings leased or owned by the participant, and buildings in a First Nations community
- Buildings on the Residential Rate Schedule qualify if they are agricultural buildings (including farms), places of worship, or multi-unit residential buildings of three or more units
- Customers classified under the Large Industrial Rate Schedule are NOT eligible
- The participant must have authorization to approve installation of equipment at the project site
- An eligible project must replace existing equipment, decrease energy use, and result in a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
- Projects must receive pre-approval from NB Power before work begins or costs are incurred
