1 Become an NGen Member Register for free NGen membership at ngen.ca. All project contributors (SME lead and partner organizations) must be NGen members before applying.
2 Identify Partner Organization Secure a partner organization willing to contribute 30%+ of total project costs (cash or in-kind). Partners can include other companies, universities, research and technology organizations (RTOs), or large manufacturers.
3 Develop Study Proposal Define the advanced manufacturing challenge, study methodology, milestones, timeline (up to 9 months), and budget ($50K-$200K total). Download the Feasibility Study Application Guide and Financial Guide from ngen.ca.
4 Submit Application via Hockeystick Portal Log into the NGen application portal (powered by Hockeystick) using your NGen account credentials. Complete the application form and upload supporting documents including financial workbook, IP strategy, and collaboration agreement.
5 Review and Decision NGen reviews the application against evaluation criteria. Decision typically within 6-12 weeks. If approved, sign contribution agreement and commence study activities.
