Program Description

Reimburses commercial poultry producers in the BC Lower Mainland for 80% of eligible costs to install air-filtration, UV-C or positive-pressure ventilation systems that reduce HPAI risk.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a commercial poultry producer in the eligible BC Lower Mainland region
  • Must have an active 9-digit CRA business number
  • Must constitute a legal entity
  • Must be registered with the BC Premises Identification Program
  • Must hold table egg, hatching egg, chicken or turkey quota under Canada’s supply management system, or raise more than 300 ducks or geese commercially per calendar year
  • Eligible tools/technologies must filter or treat incoming or recirculated air in poultry housing (mechanical air filtration, UV-C systems, positive pressure ventilation)
  • Installation must occur between January 1 and December 31, 2026, and operation must continue until March 31, 2027 or until BC poultry industry biosecurity 'Red' status is revoked in 2027, whichever comes first
