Program Description
Provides matching grants to commercial property owners (and tenants with permission) for façade improvements to street-facing commercial buildings.
Eligibility Requirements
- Commercial property owner or tenant (with owner's written permission) operating in Toronto
- Property is located within an eligible Business Improvement Area (BIA) or designated commercial corridor
- Building is a street-facing commercial property (not residential, government, or institutional)
- Not a place of worship, public institution (government building, school, hospital), or not-for-profit organization
- Improvements are to the exterior facade (signage, windows, awnings, lighting, cladding, accessibility)
- Minimum eligible improvement cost typically required (check program guidelines for current threshold)

- Outdoor lighting (decorative and functional)
- Security cameras and exterior lighting
- Entrance tiling installation
- Canopies and awnings (installation or replacement)
- Cornice, parapet, and architectural feature repair
- Exterior signage (not roof signs or ground-mounted signs)
- Exterior painting (on previously painted brick or stucco only)
- AODA accessibility upgrades: wheelchair ramps, accessible railings, accessible door openers
