What this program funds and who can apply
Program Description
A natural gas efficiency incentive from Enbridge Gas for commercial, institutional and multi-unit residential buildings in its Ontario service area, including areas previously served by Union Gas. Custom projects are paid on verified natural gas savings at up to $0.40 per cubic metre saved, covering up to 75% of eligible upgrade costs to a maximum of $100,000 per project, or $500,000 per project for institutional customers such as universities, colleges, hospitals, military bases and district energy providers. An Enbridge Gas Energy Solutions Advisor confirms eligibility, does the savings engineering and calculates the incentive, and every project must be pre-approved before equipment is purchased.
Eligibility Requirements
- Commercial buildings and facilities such as business, multi-unit residential, educational and institutional buildings
- Located in the Enbridge Gas service area, including areas previously served by Union Gas
- Project eligibility must first be confirmed by an Enbridge Gas Energy Solutions Advisor
- All Commercial Custom Retrofit projects must be pre-approved by Enbridge Gas to qualify, so equipment cannot be purchased before pre-approval
- Incentives are only made available to customers where an Enbridge Gas energy efficiency offer influenced the decision to proceed with the improvement
- The incentive cannot exceed 75% of the energy efficiency upgrade costs, meaning the difference between the energy-efficient option and the alternate option considered
