- Acquiring majority ownership of an existing operating business
- Business located in Canada
- Target business is in an eligible industry - FNBC lists manufacturing, service and retail, natural resources and energy, tourism and hospitality, and professional, and states the list is not exhaustive
- Financing is arranged with FNBC's Commercial Banking team and is supported by a guarantee from BDC
