Application Steps

1 Confirm ITA Membership Verify you are an active Interlake Tourism Association member or have applied for membership. Membership is mandatory at the time of application. Contact [email protected] to check or initiate membership.
2 Contact Your Regional Community Futures Office Reach out to the Community Futures office in your sub-region (West Interlake: [email protected], East Interlake: [email protected], Red River North: [email protected]) to confirm eligibility and discuss your project concept.
3 Confirm Project Alignment Review the ITA grant guidelines to confirm your project falls within eligible categories: new tourism experiences, event development, professional services, or travel experiences. Ensure it is NOT maintenance, a website redesign, an established recurring event, or outside the Interlake region.
4 Secure and Document Matching Funds Confirm dollar-for-dollar matching funds from eligible sources: partner contributions, government funding, or organizational revenues. In-kind contributions may cover up to 25% of total project cost. Volunteer time is generally ineligible.
5 Complete Application Form and Budget Template Download and complete the application form and budget template from interlaketourism.com. The budget must clearly separate eligible costs, capital items (capped at $1,000 within the $2,000 total), and matching contributions.
6 Submit by September 30 Deadline Email your completed application form, budget template, proof of matching funds, and supporting documentation to Dee King at [email protected], or submit by mail. Funding decisions are issued by October 24.
7 Sign Funding Agreement and Receive First Installment Upon approval, sign the ITA funding agreement to receive the first 50% installment within 30 days. Display ITA acknowledgment on all project materials.
8 Complete Project and Submit Final Report Execute your project, collect all receipts dated after the funding agreement signature. Submit a final report by December 31, 2026 including activity summary, expense report with receipts, and matching contribution records. The second 50% installment is released upon final report approval.
