You MUST complete the free 8-week Founders Fast Track to be eligible — no direct Gala entry. The training itself is valuable even if you don't advance. Two cohorts per year means two chances. Geographic restriction means competition is regional, not provincial.

Application Steps

1 Confirm Geographic Eligibility Verify your business operates in Brant, Halton, Hamilton, or Norfolk County. This is a hard eligibility gate — entrepreneurs outside these four regions cannot participate.
2 Apply for Founders Fast Track Submit an application to Innovation Factory's Founders Fast Track (FFT) program via cognitoforms.com/innovationfactory2/foundersfasttrackapplication. Demonstrate: past proof of concept, scalable technology/product/service, eligible sector (life sciences, ICT, advanced manufacturing, smart transportation, cleantech, or social innovation), and ability to attend Hamilton and Halton sessions.
3 Complete the 8-Week Founders Fast Track Program Attend all mandatory training sessions in the intensive 8-week FFT curriculum at no cost. Non-compliance with attendance affects LiONS LAIR eligibility. The program covers fundraising preparation, pitch skills, and investor readiness.
