Program Description
A first-come, first-served rebate of up to $2,500 per business location reimbursing Manitoba small businesses for security upgrades (surveillance cameras, alarm systems, lighting, fencing, protective barriers) and repair of crime-related property damage. Launched December 11, 2025 as part of Manitoba's $10M business security initiative, extending the homeowner security rebate program to include small businesses with a customer-accessible public entrance.
Eligibility Requirements
- Business registered and in good standing with the Companies Office of Manitoba
- Business has a customer-accessible public entrance (home-based businesses are ineligible; they may apply as a homeowner or tenant instead)
- The location must be assessed by the city, town or municipality to operate a business — the program verifies this
- A location must have 75 employees or less
- Must not have received payments from another rebate, grant or an insurance claim for the same expenses (insurance deductibles excepted)
- Non-share, non-profit or charitable organizations are ineligible — EXCEPT non-share / not-for-profit thrift stores, which are eligible
- Eligible expenses must have been incurred on or after August 23, 2024
- Application must be submitted at securityrebate.manitoba.ca
