Eligibility & Details
What this program funds and who can apply
Program Description
$12M fund accelerating adoption of commercially-ready health technologies into Ontario's healthcare system via the Health Innovation Pathway. Four topics (wound care, AI vision screening, surgical navigation, abdominal wall supports) were announced with $500K-$5M envelopes in September 2025 and competed through time-limited calls to hospitals in 2026. Requires TRL 8+ and the relevant Health Canada clearance.
Eligibility Requirements
- Companies, innovators, clinicians, health service providers
- Technology at TRL 8+ (commercially ready, not prototype)
- Relevant regulatory approvals (for example, Health Canada) already received where the technology requires them — a clear regulatory pathway is not an accepted substitute. Ontario Health's intake form treats TRL 8+ as the route for technologies that do not require Health Canada approval
- Must demonstrate value to Ontario patients and health budget
- Out of scope: pharma, vaccines, HIS, infrastructure
- Made-in-Ontario preference
