How much is a PEIBWA micro-grant?
Five non-repayable grants of $1,000 are offered per cycle, funded by the Prince Edward Island Interministerial Women's Secretariat.
Who can apply?
Any current PEIBWA student, retiree, small business or business member in good standing who is a resident of PEI and has not been awarded funds from this program in the last two years.
Do I need to have a business already?
No. Applicants are not required to have an operating company, and idea-stage businesses are welcome to apply.
What can the money be spent on?
Examples include business registration fees, promotional video or photography, design or copywriting, domain registration and website development, marketing such as advertising and social media support, and business equipment or operating technology.
What will it not fund?
Outstanding debts, current operational costs such as rent or wages, illegal activities or anything breaching PEIBWA's Code of Conduct. Only expenses incurred after the application closing date are eligible.
When do I get the money?
75% within 30 days of PEIBWA receiving your signed Letter of Acceptance and Funding Agreement, and the remaining 25% within 30 days of your Completion Report and financial documentation being approved.
Are applications open?
No. The 2026 micro-grants are closed. Unsuccessful applicants are welcome to resubmit eligible projects at the next call for applications.
