Québec wood innovation funding for capital, applied research, and market-study projects carried out entirely in the province. Multiple streams have different contribution rates and caps.
Eligibility Requirements
- For-profit enterprise or group of for-profit enterprises legally constituted
- Operating in the forest products industry or using forest products (equipment manufacturers and heat-energy production activities are excluded)
- Establishment in Québec and entire project carried out there
- Financial and technical capacity to complete the project
- Project demonstrates innovation in wood transformation or its derivatives
- Total project cost of at least $200,000
- Maximum project duration of 4 years
- Minimum 25% private contribution to eligible expenses

How much do I have to put in myself?
A minimum private contribution of 25% of eligible expenses is required.
Do I have to be a forestry company?
No. The programme is open to the forest products industry or to any other industry that uses forest products. Equipment manufacturers and heat-energy production activities are excluded.
Is there a minimum project size?
Yes. The project must have a total cost of at least $200,000 and last no more than four years, and it must be carried out entirely in Québec.
I want funding for a study, not equipment. When can I apply?
Volet 1B (study projects) will open on a continuous basis in winter 2027, subject to budget availability.
