How to Win
Insider tips, common pitfalls, and what successful applicants look like
Insider TipThis is fundamentally a community storytelling contest, not a merit-based grant evaluation. The nomination that tells the most compelling 'making Canada stronger' story wins. Third-party nominations from customers, employees, or community members are often more credible than self-nominations because they demonstrate external validation. Two of five grants are reserved for Purolator customers — if you ship with Purolator, you compete in a smaller pool with significantly better odds. Start building public voting support early because community engagement influences finalist selection. Past winners include food producers, artisans, social enterprises, Indigenous businesses, mental health services, and sustainable product companies. Product businesses that ship physically align naturally with Purolator's brand. Mobilize your customer base and community to vote during the finalist stage.
