Application Steps

1 Contact regional EDO before booking anything Confirm event eligibility and current regional budget availability. Regional EDOs: Beaufort-Delta 867-678-8023, North Slave 867-767-9212, South Slave 867-872-8046, Sahtu 867-587-7171, Dehcho 867-695-7500. Do not book any travel until you have confirmed approval.
2 Gather event information and cost quotes Collect: event name/dates/location, official registration fee documentation, 2–3 airfare quotes for lowest available economy fare, hotel accommodation estimate for event dates.
3 Complete SEED Application Form — Business Intelligence and Networking section Download from iti.gov.nt.ca/en/services/business-intelligence-and-networking or obtain from regional EDO. Include: traveller name(s), event details, itemized cost estimate (registration + airfare + accommodation), NWT business description, explanation of event relevance.
4 Submit to regional EDO — before booking travel Submit application with supporting documents (event details, airfare quotes, accommodation estimate, NWT registration proof) to regional EDO. In person, by mail, or electronically. Processing: 2–4 weeks. Do NOT book flights or pay registration until written approval received.
5 Receive written approval EDO issues written confirmation or contribution agreement. For time-sensitive events, ask your EDO for an expedited review. Once approved in writing, you may book and pay for travel.
6 Travel and collect receipts Book travel (economy class, standard accommodation) and pay event registration after written approval. Retain all receipts: registration confirmation/invoice, airfare receipts/boarding passes, hotel folio.
7 Submit final report with receipts After the event, submit all receipts plus a brief description of what you learned and how it benefits your NWT business to your regional EDO. Reimbursement processed within 2–4 weeks of satisfactory final report.
