How to Win
Insider tips, common pitfalls, and what successful applicants look like
Insider TipSheBoot's value is as much in the 55-investor network and 7-month post-bootcamp mentorship as in any individual investment. Come prepared with a clear pitch, defined metrics, and a specific ask. The weekly pitch practice sessions over 6 weeks substantially improve your Grand Finale performance. BIPOC-led teams are actively recruited — applying as a BIPOC-led company signals alignment with SheBoot's portfolio goals. Contact [email protected] directly to express interest between formal intake windows.
Rejection Pitfalls 5
- Business is not tech-focused or tech-enabled
- Founder is not available for the full 6-week bootcamp commitment
- Company is too late-stage for angel-seed investment (post-Series A)
Success Profile
A women-led (or women-co-led) early-stage tech startup with a product in development or early market traction, a coachable founding team willing to invest 6 weeks full-time, and a clear vision for how angel investment will accelerate their growth. BIPOC-led teams are especially encouraged.
Evaluation Criteria
Applications are evaluated on the strength of the founding team, clarity of the technology product or service, market opportunity size, current traction, and alignment with SheBoot's mission of advancing women in tech entrepreneurship. BIPOC representation is a positive selection factor. A pitch or interview component is typically part of the selection process.
