Program Description
Quarterly grant program for exterior and interior capital improvements to ground-floor storefront businesses in downtown Winnipeg, offering up to $200,000 per project for exterior work and up to $30,000 for interior work.
Eligibility Requirements
- Small to medium-sized street-facing ground-floor storefront business in the Program Area
- Ground-floor commercial tenant with at least 3 years remaining on the lease, landlord acting on behalf of an eligible establishment, or business/property owner
- Permitted use under Downtown Winnipeg Zoning By-Law 100/2004
- Signed property-owner approval for proposed improvements
- Good standing with the Province of Manitoba and City of Winnipeg
- At least three coordinated design interventions required
- Permits must be applied for within 3 months of conditional approval and work completed within 12 months of grant agreement
- Non-profit community organizations that align with program objectives are also eligible (verbatim: "it is also open to non-profit community organizations who align with the Program Objectives")
