Program Description

Twice-yearly matching grants for façade and accessibility improvements to commercial and mixed-use buildings in Downtown Oshawa's Urban Growth Centre.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Property owners, business owners, tenants, or agents acting on behalf of property owners may apply
  • Applicants who are not the property owner must have the owner's awareness and approval of the application
  • Property must be within the Downtown Oshawa Urban Growth Centre boundary
  • All non-residential and mixed-use buildings are eligible; residential buildings are eligible but limited to apartments and block townhouses
  • Work must meet the Ontario Building Code, the Ontario Fire Code and the City's Sign By-law
  • Grants are one-time per eligible applicant for each approved project
  • Funding at the September deadline depends on first-round approvals and remaining funding
