Application Steps

1 Confirm Eligibility Confirm you operate in Nova Scotia, employ or engage at least one NS resident, and are NOT a previous CUA grant recipient. CUA membership is not required. Identify which of the five funding categories fits your project.
2 Define a Project-Based Use Case Identify specific one-time project costs: new equipment, technology upgrades, facility improvements, or one-time program implementations. Ongoing wages, rent, utilities, and maintenance are ineligible. Budget must be project-based, not operational.
3 Complete the Online Application at cua.com Submit the online application form before January 30 at 4:00 PM AST. The application is entirely online — no email attachments or supplementary materials accepted. CUA staff may recategorize your application without disqualification.
4 Selection by Member Advisory Council CUA's Member Advisory Council reviews all applications. Selection prioritizes social and economic impact, with a guaranteed minimum of $10,000 allocated to BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and/or disabled community organizations.
5 Receive Advance Grant Funds Selected recipients receive funds as an advance before project execution. Contact [email protected] for questions at any stage.
