Program Description

The City of Guelph offers first-come-first-served seed grants up to $25,000 to registered charitable non-profits for pre-construction affordable housing costs.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Registered non-profit or charitable corporation
  • Meets the criteria of a non-profit developer under the Development Charges Act (1997)
  • In good standing under the Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (2010), the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (2009), or registered as a non-profit housing co-operative under the Co-operative Corporations Act (1990) with the primary objective of providing affordable housing
  • Proposing to build affordable housing in Guelph
  • If the development proceeds, rental units must remain affordable for at least 25 years at the rates in the Province's Affordable Residential Unit Bulletin for Guelph
