Program Description

Invest Nova Scotia's Climate Adaptation Program contributes up to $15,000 per business toward the cost of expert advice and pilot testing needed to identify and integrate climate adaptation measures. It pays for third-party climate risk assessments, adaptation planning, engineering studies and small pilot tests, not for construction or equipment purchases. Nova Scotia registered businesses with a permanent establishment in the province and fewer than 150 full-time equivalent employees can apply. The intake runs from October 7, 2026 to November 2, 2026 at 3:00 pm ADT, and projects must be completed by March 31, 2027.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a Nova Scotia registered business in good standing, with current registration on the Registry of Joint Stock Companies
  • Have a permanent establishment in Nova Scotia

  • Have fewer than 150 full-time equivalent employees (FTEs)
  • Have no outstanding or pending claims or litigation, injunctions, judgments, orders, legal or administrative actions, or similar proceedings against the business, its principals or any related business (some exceptions may apply; contact your Regional Business Development Advisor)
  • The business, its principals and any related business must not be in default of any obligations under any other financial assistance or incentive program from Invest Nova Scotia, the Province of Nova Scotia or any provincial agency (the Credit Union Small Business Loan Guarantee Program counts as provincial financial assistance)
  • Businesses and their related entities may be limited to funding for one business only
  • The project must be new and unique, with defined start and end dates, and not include year-over-year work
