Program Description

A cost-share grant stream for Ontario entrepreneurs, businesses and incorporated non-profits undertaking economic development projects within Francophone communities; covers up to 50% of eligible project expenses.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Legal status as a for-profit organization registered under the Ontario Business Names Act and/or incorporated under the Ontario or Canada Business Corporations Act, or as a not-for-profit organization. Sole proprietorships and business partnerships are eligible
  • In continuous operation in Ontario for at least two years as of January 1, 2026
  • Gross annual revenues of at least $50,000 and no more than $1,000,000 for for-profit applicants (at least $50,000 for not-for-profits)
  • At least one full-time employee working 35 hours or more per week averaged over 12 months, or 1,820 hours per year. The owner counts if they work those hours
  • Not 100% funded by the provincial government
  • Meets at least one francophone-market test: operates in a census subdivision that is at least 15% Francophone, or offers products and services to francophones in Ontario, or presents a realistic expansion plan supported by market data to start serving a francophone market in Ontario, or partners with a regional, national or international organization to expand what is available to francophone markets in Ontario
  • For-profit organizations are eligible only for the Economic Development stream
