Program Description
Offers matching grants totaling up to $13,500 per property for front façade, rear façade, signage, and planning/design improvements. Applications close the first Monday in October or when funding is expended.
Eligibility Requirements
- Property owners, or tenants with property owner approval
- Non-profit organizations with commercial properties
- Home-based businesses with a storefront in the eligible area, the Shelburne Downtown Business Improvement Area
- The property must have commercial use at street level, and may have commercial or residential uses on upper floors
- The building façade must face a public road or a right-of-way accessible to the public
- The business must hold a valid Shelburne business licence
- Property taxes must be fully paid and up to date
- No outstanding building permits, stop work orders or development permit condition requirements
- The property must not have received a previous grant under this program in the past 10 years
- Projects must comply with the design guidelines for the designated area
