Program Description
A six month accelerator for early stage companies headquartered in Elgin, Middlesex, Oxford, Lambton or Huron county, taking 18 startups a year across urban, rural and women led streams. Selected companies get advisory support from experts in sales, marketing, finance and IP, plus up to $10,000 in non dilutive funding matched dollar for dollar by the company.
Eligibility Requirements
- Early-stage company headquartered in Elgin, Middlesex, Oxford, Lambton or Huron county.
- Scalable product or service.
- Founder or owner working full-time in the business.
- One or two leadership team members available to attend at least 75% of workshop sessions.
- Product-market fit, IP strategy, first customers and revenue preferred.
- Tech companies in AI, Cybersecurity, MedTech, Digital Health, AgriTech, Clean Growth and Zero Emission Vehicles especially welcome.
- Funding is 1:1 matched; up to $10,000 non-dilutive per selected company.
- 6-month accelerator; 18 startups supported each year across urban and rural streams.

Who can apply to the GROW Accelerator?
An early stage company headquartered in Elgin, Middlesex, Oxford, Lambton or Huron county, with a scalable product or service, a founder or owner working in the business full time, and one or two leadership team members available to attend at least 75% of workshop sessions.
How much funding is there and how does the match work?
Up to $10,000 in matched funding. TechAlliance describes the funding as offered one to one, so $10,000 from TechAlliance requires $10,000 from the company.
How long is the program and how many companies get in?
Six months, supporting 18 early stage startups across both urban and rural regions in Southwestern Ontario each year. Seventeen startups were selected for the 2025 cohort of the revamped GROW Accelerator.
Do I have to be a tech company?
No. TechAlliance says it is especially excited to support tech companies in AI, cybersecurity, medtech, digital health, agritech, clean growth and zero emission vehicles, but that is a preference rather than an eligibility criterion. The 2025 cohort ranged from clean tech and AI to consumer goods, SaaS and life sciences.
What are the streams?
Urban, Rural and Women led. The 2025 cohort was published in all three.
What support comes with the funding?
Six months of curated programming and strategic advisory support, working with experts in B2B and B2C sales, marketing, finance and IP to build a roadmap to scale.
Who funds GROW?
The 2025 cohort is supported by Polaris, a $3.5 million investment in TechAlliance of Southwestern Ontario by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, aimed at the rural communities of Lambton, Huron, Elgin, Oxford and Middlesex and their adjacent urban centres including London.
