Program Description

Total Mom Inc. runs a pitch competition awarding one mom-identifying woman entrepreneur a $50,000 package ($10,000 cash plus $40,000 in curated business services). Quebec residents are not eligible.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Open to women-owned / mom-identifying founders — self-identify as a woman entrepreneur and have been a caregiver (mom-identifying incl. step-moms, grandmothers, adoptive mothers)
  • Be a legal Canadian resident aged 18 or older.
  • Self-identify as a woman entrepreneur and be mom-identifying (includes step-moms, grandmothers and adoptive mothers).
  • Own or operate a business, or intend to operate within the Canadian market.
  • Have current total annual sales under $2,000,000 CAD.
  • Not have been a finalist in any previous Canada's Total Mom Pitch competition.
  • Quebec residents are not eligible.

Who can apply to Canada's Total Mom Pitch?
A legal resident of Canada over the age of 18 who self-identifies as a woman entrepreneur and has been a caregiver at some point in her life, meaning she would consider herself mom-identifying. That includes but is not limited to step-moms, grandmothers and adoptive mothers. Quebec residents are not eligible.
What does the winner receive?
One founder is awarded a $50,000 grand prize, made up of $10,000 in cash funding and $40,000 in curated business services, consulting and strategic support.
Is there a revenue limit?
Yes. Applicants must have current total annual sales under $2,000,000 CAD.
Do I need an established business, or can I apply with an idea?
The competition is open to businesses of all stages, from concept to already trading. The organizers also ask that you have a thought-through and viable business you have been working on for the past year, and applicants may alternatively intend to operate within the Canadian market.
What do I get if I do not win?
Top 100 semi-finalists are invited to two webinar sessions covering industry organizations, funding pathways and capital education, and are featured in a national video and media campaign. There is no cash at that stage.
Can I apply if I was a finalist before?
No. Applicants must not have been a Finalist in any previous Canada's Total Mom Pitch competition.
