1 Register on the Ontario Creates Online Application Portal Create an account at apply.ontariocreates.ca. First-time applicants should also email [email protected] at least two weeks before the deadline for a pre-submission consultation.
2 Prepare financial statements and activity budget Gather two years of audited or reviewed financial statements (dated within 6 months of fiscal year-end). Prepare your activity budget using Ontario Creates' provided template — the two-year average revenue in your statements determines your maximum eligible request.
3 Draft marketing plan and programming description Outline your festival or concert series programming, Canadian-artist lineup, audience development strategy, and projected attendance and revenue. If requesting $50K+, a full business plan is required.
4 Submit application by October 22, 2026 (5:00 PM ET) Upload all required documents through the Online Application Portal. Submit the Applicant Affidavit. Requests must be between $10,000 and $125,000 and cannot exceed 50% of your total project budget.
5 Assessment and grant agreement Ontario Creates reviews applications and notifies applicants of decisions (typically 3-4 months post-deadline). Successful applicants sign a grant agreement and receive the first payment installment.
