How to Win

Insider tips, common pitfalls, and what successful applicants look like

Premium
Insider Tip

This fund is for BIAs and non-profits — individual businesses cannot apply directly. If your street is affected by Eglinton, Ontario Line, or another corridor, contact your BIA executive director and advocate for an application. The strongest proposals combine multiple activation types (events, signage, marketing campaign) rather than a single activity. Document pre-construction foot traffic data if available — showing the baseline impact strengthens the case.

Premium See what trips up most applicants for this program — and how to avoid it.

Rejection Pitfalls 5

  • Applicant is a for-profit business rather than a BIA or eligible non-profit
  • Location is not adjacent to an eligible transit construction corridor
  • Proposed activities duplicate funding already received from the Streetscape Improvement Program
